This Years Class Valentines

As a parent, I always look forward to finding unique and creative gifts for my children’s class Valentine’s Day exchange. This year, my son Kosta and daughter Flora were excited to choose their own gifts to share with their classmates.

Kosta’s Skateboard Valentines

Kosta decided on mini skateboard valentines, featuring a digital download card from Etsy that said “You’re totally rad” and mini light-up skateboards from Amazon. The cards were easy to print and cut, and the skateboards arrived in just one day (I signed up for a free trial of Amazon Prime and canceled after my items arrived). We used black and white twine to attach the skateboards to the cards, creating a fun and unique gift.

Flora’s Squishy Toy Valentines

Flora chose mini squishy toy valentines, featuring digital download cards from Etsy and squishy toys from Amazon. Once again, the cards were easy to print and cut, and the squishies arrived quickly with Amazon Prime. We used holographic clear cellophane treat bags to hold the cards and squishies, sealing them shut with cute heart stickers.

Pinterest and Amazon Inspiration

To find inspiration for their class valentines, we spent time browsing Pinterest and Amazon together. It was fun to see what caught their attention and sparked their creativity. We considered SO many options, from mini paint kits to mini pop-its, before finally settling on the skateboards and squishy toys.

Assembly Fun

Assembling the gifts was a blast! We set up an assembly line in the kitchen, and everyone worked well together! It was a fun and memorable family activity, and we all felt a sense of pride in creating unique, personalized gifts for their classmates. And, for once, we aren’t scrambling to take care of this! In past years, I’ve stayed up very late assembling class valentines by myself. I’m happy to have been able to include the kids this year in the entire process. I can’t wait to hear all about their Valentine’s day at school.
